This is a classic panel-mounted aircraft engine monitor (avionics instrument) for piston engines. It is TSO-C43b approved as a temperature indicator and uses Type K thermocouples to monitor Exhaust Gas Temperature (EGT) and Cylinder Head Temperature (CHT). Depending on configuration and options, it can also display oil temperature, fuel flow, RPM, manifold pressure, voltage, and other parameters.
It provides digital and analog bar-graph readouts, LeanFind mixture leaning assistance, alarms, and data logging. It fits a standard 2¼" instrument hole (some versions use 3⅛"), runs on 11–30 VDC, and weighs about 1.12 lbs. The EDM-700 is the base model; the EDM-800 adds more advanced features such as % horsepower. The series is discontinued but still widely installed and supported by JPI. The label notes that fuel flow, RPM, and manifold pressure functions do not meet certain TSO standards (common on many of these units depending on options and age).
Unless otherwise stated, all used airplane parts are sold as-removed and in the condition received. To the best of our knowledge, these parts were fully operational when removed.
