This is a vacuum-driven directional gyro (also called a heading indicator or DG). It provides a stable heading reference for the pilot, independent of the magnetic compass’s acceleration and turning errors. It operates on 4.5–5.2 in. Hg. vacuum, weighs about 2.9 lbs, and is TSO C5c Type I approved. These AIM 200-series units were widely used in general aviation aircraft.
Unless otherwise stated, all used airplane parts are sold as-removed and in the condition received. To the best of our knowledge, these parts were fully operational when removed.
